https://jiemjournal.com/index.php/jiemjournal/article/view/7

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Islamic Senior High Schools (Madrasah Aliyah) aims to improve the quality of learning through a project-based approach, differentiated learning, and strengthening student character. This study aims to analyze the impact of the Independent Curriculum implementation on Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning and identify challenges and opportunities in its implementation. Using a qualitative case study method, this research involved interviews with madrasah principals and PAI teachers, student questionnaires, and direct classroom observations. The results indicate that the Independent Curriculum contributes positively to improving students' understanding of Islamic concepts and their engagement in the learning process. However, key challenges remain, such as a lack of training for teachers in designing Islamic value-based projects, limited learning facilities, and varying levels of student engagement. This study confirms that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in PAI in Madrasah Aliyah requires more concrete policy support, more comprehensive teacher training, and strengthening of educational infrastructure. This study provides recommendations for Islamic educational institutions to develop more innovative and effective learning strategies to support project-based learning in madrasah.
Nur Alifah, Nabilaa Faizatuz Zuhriyah

https://jiemjournal.com/index.php/jiemjournal/article/view/9

This study aims to analyze the role of academic supervision in improving teachers' pedagogical competence during the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, the study was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Cirebon City and involved the principal, supervisor, and five core subject teachers. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, participant observation , questionnaires, and documentation studies. The results showed that collaborative, reflective, and coaching- based academic supervision contributed significantly to improving teachers' pedagogical competence , particularly in aspects of lesson planning, differentiated learning , formative assessment , and teaching reflection. The data showed an average increase in teacher competency scores of 20–30 points after supervision implementation. Humanistic and contextual supervision can shift the paradigm of teachers from mere curriculum implementers to adaptive learning facilitators. This study emphasizes the importance of repositioning the supervision function from administrative control to a continuous professional mentoring process. These findings provide important implications for principals, supervisors, and policymakers in designing supervision strategies relevant to the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum.
Labisal Fitri Alqolbi

https://jiemjournal.com/index.php/jiemjournal/article/view/10

Digital transformation has become an urgent requirement in vocational education management to improve the efficiency, accountability, and competitiveness of institutions. This study aims to examine technology-based management strategies in improving the performance of vocational education organizations in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and questionnaires from three vocational education institutions : State Polytechnics, Vocational High Schools (SMK Unggulan), and Community Academy. The results show that technology integration in the management system drives operational efficiency improvements, accelerates administrative services, and strengthens data utilization in decision-making. State Polytechnic A, which implemented an ERP-based integrated management system, demonstrated the best results across all performance indicators. Conversely, institutions with limited resources and infrastructure demonstrated challenges in the digitalization process. This study concludes that technology-based management strategies need to be designed holistically, not only from a technical perspective but also through strengthening organizational culture and human resource competencies. These findings contribute to policymakers and institutional leaders in designing adaptive and sustainable vocational education management transformations.
Zayin Nafsaka Sajidin
